Il secondo evento R.S.D. Drops del Record Store Day, con la pubblicazione degli Album che riporto sotto, è, ovviamente, un momento clou, ma la lista delle nuove uscite musicali di luglio 2021 non inizia né finisce qui.
David Crosby pubblica l’album “For Free” e si ripropone insieme a una collaborazione con Michael McDonald.
Jackson Browne pubblicherà il suo primo nuovo album in sei anni "Downhill From Everywhere".
Dee Snider ritorna con il suo quinto progetto da solista "Leave a Scar".
Sono in arrivo una serie di ristampe arricchite:
quella dei Beach Boys con un box di cinque CD “Feel Flows” contenenti le sessioni di “Sunflower” e “Surf's Up” del 1969-71;
quella dei Chicago con il loro album live del 1971, “Chicago alla Carnegie Hall” e quella degli Stone Temple Pilots che in concomitanza del 25° anniversario della pubblicazione ripubblicano una nuova edizione (anniversario) dell’Album “Tiny Music ... Songs From the Vatican Gift Shop” del 1996 .
Un’ altra uscita rilevante riguarda l’album “Almost Famous soundtrack” di Cameron Crowe con la compilation di canzoni Rock famose da lui scelte.
Gli Album live del mese includono:
quello della Tedeschi Trucks Band intitolato “Layla Revisited (Live at LOCKN')” che vede anche la partecipazione del frontman dei Phish Trey Anastasio;
quello dei Blondie , con il loro concerto relativo alla reunion del 2019 a Cuba "Vivir en la Habana"; e infine quello dei Brothers i membri sopravvissuti della Allman Brothers Band, che con l’Album del concerto del Madison Square garden del 10 marzo 2020 hanno commemorato il 50° anniversario del gruppo.
